About Us

Our Journey

Ndoyaa Garments was officially established as a company in 2002, but it truly began life three years earlier, in a garage housing ten workers. Founder Faustina Ansong has always had a passion for sewing, creating fashionable pieces from a mixture of fabrics, and she had the drive to make it a career.

It wasn’t long before her creations became so popular, she had to expand. She took on more skilled workers to keep up with demand, and then needed to add more machines to her complement for them to work on, which in turn required more space.

Now based in a purpose-built workspace in Accra, customers can easily find us. We have grown into one of Ghana’s leading garment manufacturers, even as a medium sized company. We now have 70 tailors working with 90 machines, and a team of 18 employees keeping all the vital company functions running. Everyone plays their part to make sure our clothes are produced to the highest quality in a timely fashion for our customers.

Our Inspiration

I started this business for the love of sewing and the joy of putting fabrics together to create one unique idea that stands out among others. The appeal of being charismatic lingers on in the desirability to produce something unique and outstanding.” – Faustina Ansong, CEO, Ndoyaa Garments

Traditional African wax prints have been the hallmark of fashion in Ghana and West Africa for generations. When creating a new Ankara dress, shirt or other pieces, we have an eye on these classic styles, but add our own touch to make something unique and modern, yet timeless. When you shop at Ndoyaa, you get true African fashion of the highest quality, made in Ghana.

Our Values

In the Konkomba dialect, spoken mostly in the north of Ghana, Ndoyaa means ‘family’. A sense of family is one of the key values that drives Ndoyaa Garments, not just within the company itself, but in our wider community.

We see the deprivation people live with every day. As such, we’re proud to offer training and work to those who want to improve their chances in life, learn new skills, and earn a stable wage. We hope in turn that our employees will be able to take these skills back to their community, and create positive change for themselves and others.

In addition to providing work opportunities for our local community, we have not forgotten our connection to the Northern Region. Through charitable donations, we work with heavily deprived communities to provide footwear to children of the Northern Region so that they can attend school.

Sustainability

We strive to make a positive impact in everything we do. We reject the ideas of fast fashion – instead we focus on making pieces which have a good lifespan as part of your wardrobe, in styles that are fashionable yet timeless.
